Is This A Kickstarter-Exclusive Project?

Sort of. As of right now we are not able to bring Deep Madness to retail through standard distribution channels. However, we have not ruled out the possibility of retail for the future, should circumstances change. This makes the game “effectively Kickstarter-Exclusive” - at least for now.

I made a pledge without a reward level. What should I do?

You will now want to change your pledge level to the Crawling Core, Investigator or All-In level (or one of the returning backer levels if you already own the game.) We are not offering any purchasable items if you don’t select a pledge level.

I pledged $1 for the Waves of Madness pledge level, but I don't want to buy anything this time and it still wants me to pay shipping. What should I do?

Because the Waves of Madness level was designed for returning backers who just wanted to buy a few add-ons, there is still a shipping fee attached to it. To complete your survey without paying any shipping fee, switch your pledge level to “$0 - Chose not to receive reward.” Then you won’t have any shipping fee and can still complete your survey. (Which we appreciate, by the way.)

I'm a Late Backer for the Original Deep Madness Campaign. Can I Still Get One of the Returning Backer Levels?

Yes. You will still be able to pledge with either the Waves of Madness or Deeper Terrors levels if you were a late backer on the first Deep Madness campaign.

Yes you can. We will confirm with you in the pledge manager that you actually own a copy of Deep Madness.

How do I validate that I'm a returning backer?

If you’re a returning backer from the first campaign, then you won’t have to do a thing. We will double-check your information against the first campaign, and you’ll be good to go. And if you bought the game after-market or got it from a friend, you won’t have to do anything - yet. When we lock down the pledge manager and double-check backers against those from the first campaign, then we will contact you to obtain proof that you do indeed own the game. If we can’t obtain proof from you at that point, then we will need to switch you to a different pledge level.

I decided Deep Madness isn't for me and I want a refund. What should I do?

You can contact us via [email protected]. We will not be able to refund you for the amount of the Kickstarter fees charged on your pledge, but we will be happy to take care of the rest.

How much will Profundum cost me for shipping?

Profundum is really big and kind of heavy, even if it is largely empty. The weight for the box alone will be 2kg (approximately 4.4lbs), and its volume weight will be 4kg (approximately 8.8lbs - carriers will calculate volume weight when air transportation is involved.) For much of the world Profundum will cost an extra $8-$12 for shipping, but there are some locations which will be much more. I don't want to pay that much to ship Profundum! Can I get rid of it?

Yes you can. If your pledge level includes Profundum, you can click the “add-on” that says “I don’t need the Profundum Storage Box” and add it to your cart. This will automatically decrease your shipping cost. Please be aware, though, that doing so will also eliminate some of the other stretch goals we unlocked during the campaign which are being shipped in the Profundum box, such as the printed scenarios.

Do I really need translation packs?

During the first campaign, a number of backers who preferred one of the alternate languages for Deep Madness forgot to add the translation packs to their orders or didn’t realize they weren’t automatically included. If you chose the all-in pledge level for non-English backers then these packs are included (though we still need to know what language you prefer, which is the first question asked in your survey,) but if you haven’t chosen this pledge level then it is absolutely essential that you add the pack(s) you’ll need. So please don’t forget to add the translation packs to your order if you want the printed materials in anything but English.

I'm a returning Canadian backer. How do I get my free Ravenous?

You don’t have to do a thing. We’ll add it to your pledge when we lock down the pledge manager around February 11th. There’s no need for you to add one to your order unless you want more than one.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
