Choose Your Own Terror 3

Well, it's a day late, but at last here is part three of our little Choose Your Own Terror story!
First of all, I just want to preface this update by saying there is no campaign-related content in it. So, if you're not interested in the story, feel free to stop reading now.
Next of all, this probably won't make a lot of sense if you haven't read the first two entries in the story. So, if you need to get caught up, go to Part One here and Part Two here.
All caught up? Good. Well, after 222 comments, here's where we stand.
The last time I counted, at least 152 of you said that we should go with option A: chance moving the woman, and get the heck out of there. While I didn't officially tally the other two options, by far the most popular 2nd choice was C: stay and fight whatever's coming. There were a few of you who heartlessly said we should just leave the woman and run, and a few heartless others who recommended we institute Option D: kill the woman ourselves and then run. (LOL! Cold, guys! Cold! XD)
So, anyway, by an overwhelming majority vote, here's Option A.
PART THREE: OPTION A
“We're not going to leave her here,” you announce. “You get her legs. Try to support her back. I’ll get her shoulders.”
“Thank you,” the woman sobs. “Thank you!”
Thomas sighs, but he does what you say, slinging his axe over his back. Trying to cradle her spine, the two of you lift at the same time. She cries out in agony, and you feel your own pain jolting through your arms and body. You grit your teeth, working through the hurt. Something bellows just around the next bend in the corridor.
“Let’s go, Thomas!” you yell. “We’ve gotta get out of here!”
“No argument here,” he says. The two of you hurry as fast as you can down the corridor, hearing the approaching clamor of what sounds like a legion of crawling, slithering, chittering terrors.
You make it down the corridor and turn left. Another person sees you coming and freezes, a puzzled look on her face.
“Contact security!” you cry. “We need to get this section locked down NOW!”
The woman nods, tapping on her node as she turns to run, too. You hear her speaking with Command, and only hope they can move in time to stop whatever’s coming.
“Hey!” she yells. You pause and see her pointing to a mobile cargo bed. Perfect.
“Thomas, there!” you say. Thomas nods, and together you gingerly place the hurting woman on the flat bed’s surface. The woman moans. She’s fighting unconsciousness.
“Hey,” you say, patting her face. “Stay with us. Don’t go to sleep now. We need you awake. What’s your name?”
“D-Diane,” she mumbles.
“Hi, Diane,” you say. “It’s a pleasure to meet you. This is Thomas. Now, we need you to stay conscious, okay?”
“We’ve got to get going again!” Thomas warns. The other woman taps off her node.
“Security’s been alerted,” she says. “They’re working to close down this section and are dispatching a team to take care of the problem. But we’re still in this section, so...”
Turning to the woman, you nod. You realize you know her. Her name’s… Persephone? She’s a friend of Cynthia’s.
Oh, Cynthia!
“Then let’s move!” Thomas snaps. Activating the mobile bed’s anti-grav magnets, he starts running at full-tilt, pushing Diane along in front of him. You and Persephone scramble to catch up.
At last you come to a junction in the corridor. Somewhere off to the left is the med-bay. In the distance up ahead is the security wing. And to the right is the path to Cynthia’s department.
“Come on!” Persephone says. “We need to get Diane to the med-bay!”
“Screw that!” Thomas says. “I’m not going up against those things with an axe! I’m going to go get an actual gun!"
“So, what? You’re just going to leave Diane to die?” Persephone says.
“To be perfectly honest, I’ve been trying to do that for a while now,” Thomas says. “No offense, Diane.”
Diane shivers but manages to raise one hand to flip Thomas off.
“Fine then,” Persephone says. “Well, I’m going to make sure she doesn’t die at least.” She turns to face you. “What are you going to do?”
You feel more conflicted than you have up until this point. On the one hand, you can’t just abandon Diane to whatever comes along. On the other hand, Thomas has a point: guns would be incredibly helpful right about now. But you also feel a growing need blooming inside you to make sure Cynthia’s okay.
Maybe you could go get a gun and then head for Cynthia. There might be safety in that. Or maybe you could help Diane get to safety and then double back. After all, she’s your responsibility at this point. But what if one of those things has popped up where Cynthia’s working already?
This might be your most difficult decision yet. And you have no clue how to proceed.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
A. Go with Persephone to get Diane to the med-bay and save her life.
B. Go with Thomas to get guns.
C. Go find Cynthia.
So what's it going to be, everyone? What are we going to do next? Let me know in the comments!
Thank You So Much!

Wow! You guys are incredible!
In the end, 7,768 backers came together to raise $839,911 to drag the world right back down into the watery depths of Deep Madness.
What can we say? We are so grateful to you for your support, your participation, your comments, and, most of all, your belief in this project and this company. We went up against some enormous obstacles with this campaign, not the least of which was some absolutely gigantic competition. And the fact that we have come out of this with almost $840,000 (not to mention actually ahead of many of those truly great games we found ourselves up against) is, frankly, astonishing.
Thank you. So much. We just can't say that enough. But that won't keep us from trying. =)
WHAT'S COMING NOW
So what's going to happen now? Well, we're going to spend a couple of days recuperating I think, but then we're off to the races again. Kickstarter will spend approximately 7 days collecting pledges from you all. (If there's any problems processing your pledge, then you'll have that timeframe to update your payment method.) After that, they'll take approximately one more week to send the funds to us.
Following that, probably around the middle of December, we will open the pledge manager. However, this does not mean you need to finish your pledge right away! Nay, nay! (I mean, you certainly can if you'd like to… We won't stop you… ;) The pledge manager will be open until at least the end of February, so you will have plenty of time to change your pledge level, add add-ons, and pay for shipping. We'll also keep you updated as the new stuff is developed so that you can see if you really want something or not.
Chances are extremely good at this point that we will use Backerkit for the pledge manager (we have been looking at a couple different ones, so that's why it's not 100%.) If we do use Backerkit, though, then we will be enabling the PayPal option inside it. That means you will also be able to do partial payments and add stuff as you're able to on your pledge. I certainly appreciate this when it's enabled in campaigns I back, so hopefully that'll be a nice help for you as well. If you don't use PayPal, however, chances are that your credit card will not be charged for shipping, add-ons, etc. until we close the pledge manager in late-February/early-March.
We're going to keep you updated every step of the way, too, from now until delivery. We'll let you know as soon as we have some new info or pictures or whatever as we work to get Deep Madness into your hands.
I'm also still going to keep the Choose Your Own Terror story going for now. We didn't go anywhere near it on the live stream yesterday because so many people said they couldn't make it, but the live stream also went for four hours yesterday. You heard that right. Four. Hours. LOL! (Thanks so much to everyone who hung out with me yesterday, though. It truly was finishing off this campaign in style, and I was humbled you all were content to look at my face for four hours. =) So, because of that, I wasn't able to get the CYOT story done in a timely fashion. I'll try to have it up tomorrow for you all. =) I also plan to finish off the Visages that we didn't get to during the campaign, so be on the lookout for those in the coming days.
Speaking of that live stream, Kickstarter is still having problems finalizing live streams apparently, so we had to delete this one, too. BUT! If you are interested, we also recorded it on Facebook Live! Huzzah! It looks like it only captured two hours of the four-hour extravaganza, but that's probably a little more manageable anyway. So, if for some reason you feel like sitting through a meager two hours of me talking (and hilariously trying to keep up with the comments), then you can watch it by going to https://www.facebook.com/deepmadnessgame/videos/2405498169507293/.
THANK YOU!
Well that's it for now, my friends. But from Roger, Yichuan, Cherry, myself (Byron), and all the rest of the Diemension Games team, once more, THANK YOU! We are truly blessed and humbled by your support. You are what makes Diemension Games tick. (Literally. Without you we would cease to exist. LOL. ;) Oh. Did I mention "thank you?"

Monstrum Pictures! An Hour and a Half to Go!
– Wed, Nov 21, 2018 at 12:43:20 PM
Hey all! Wow, this last day has been INSANE! Kicktraq is currently saying we've done $76,000+ today, and it's behind again already!
How far can we go before the end? I have no idea!
So we busted through those last couple of stretch goals like they were nothing. I knew we'd hit them, but I didn't realize how fast! Sheesh!
That means that the printed scenarios and the Cthulhu Sculpture will now be joining us!
Unfortunately, I don't know that we can do any more goals currently. I'm hearing any more might not be feasible at this point. Sorry, guys. I would've liked one more for the road, too. Ah, well. There's always next campaign. =)
However, we do have some cool new pictures of the Monstrum prototype! There's no pictures of the foam inserts yet, but we should have those not long after the campaign ends hopefully. Here's a look at the prototype box:
You can still add Monstrum to your pledge for $45. And you're already getting its sister box, Profundum, for free with every Deeper Terrors, Investigator or All-In pledge.
So, also, the live stream will start in just a few more minutes, guys! Stay tuned for that! I can't wait to hang out with you all!
Next Stretch Goal - Printed Scenarios!

We've done it, guys! Profundum is officially unlocked! How cool is that?
-
Now, some of you may be wondering if that was our last stretch goal.
(And some of you already know, because you've been looking at the campaign page. Sneaky eagle-eyed backers… ;)
But the answer is… NO! We've got something else coming up for you! And it is -
-
That's right! For all of you who've been asking for the printed scenarios, I've officially eaten my previous comments that they wouldn't happen during this campaign. We will now be including them in the Profundum box we just unlocked (for every Deeper Terrors, Investigator and All-In pledge) should we reach $780,000! What's more, they will be available in all five supported languages!
Is that the end then for this Deep Madness campaign? Well, I guess we'll see. How quickly do you think we can get to $780,000?
Final Few Hours! More Cool Stuff! … Another Stretch Goal?

We're here, everyone! The final day of the Deep Madness Second Printing campaign!
Wow! What an incredible ride this has been! Thank you so much for jumping on board to all of our new friends who have joined us, and many thanks to those who've been with us for the duration! You all are incredible, and we are so grateful.
It's kind of weird that this will be the last of this sort of update, isn't it? Well, it is for me, anyway. But maybe this means I'll get to bed before the not-so-wee hours of the morning. =D
In any case, let's get to it! There's only a few hours left, but there is so much going on in those few hours!
First of all, I came across another DM video from Dice Tower! While it is just another unboxing, it is a lot of fun to hear Zee Garcia's thoughts on the components. Check it out at Daily Game Unboxing - Deep Madness: Endless Nightmares.
-
Next, we have another podcast for you all! Polyhedron Collider took an absolutely hilarious look at Deep Madness in their 50th episode of The Polyhedron Collider Cast. The Deep Madness discussion starts at 35:51. (But, in short, Andy Lewis says it's on his short list for Game of the Year!) Check it out here: http://bit.ly/2DOVZuu
(Also, it sounds like Andy Lewis is currently a returning backer on this reprint, so hi, Andy! Did Steve ever become a backer? 😉 )
Now let's get into the good stuff!
-
STRETCH GOALS
We are getting much closer to unlocking the printed scenarios for every Deeper Terrors, Investigator and All-In pledge! Score! We're not there yet, but do I think we'll get there? Why, yes. Yes I do.
-
But what do you think? Do you think we can do it? Or, perhaps more importantly, do you think we can make it to ONE MORE?!
One very regularly requested thing from this campaign were for monster cards to be made of Evil Jon, the Weird Statue, and the Cthulhu-ish Sculpture. We've thus far committed to doing two of those (with your help.) But you might notice that there is one in-particular that is not on that list. Shall we rectify that?
-
You heard that right! We have one more 11th-hour stretch goal for the last of the requested monster cards! SQUEE! If we can make it to $800,000, then this card will be a reality! CAN WE DO IT?!
So, a couple things to keep in mind for today. I will be live hanging out with all of you starting at 2pm PST today as we tick down the final minutes of the campaign and celebrate in traditional DM fashion! Be sure to subscribe to the feed so you don't miss it! (We're also going to try Facebook Live. We'll see how that goes.) I'll answer your questions, laugh at your jokes, show you minis, and probably offer spoilers. (Just judging by past live streams, that's what I'm expecting to happen at any rate.) So come join me and let's usher this campaign out in style!
Next of all, some of you might be wondering about our little Choose Your Own Terror story now that the campaign is winding down. (Especially since I promised to try to have the next one out yesterday and it didn't happen.) Well, I for one am having a lot of fun with it still, and I don't think the story's done yet. So, I plan to keep going with it. Hopefully I'll have one out later today, maybe after the live stream. (Or maybe we'll do it live on the stream if people want? Who knows!) At the latest it'll be tomorrow. I probably won't do it every couple of days any more now that I'm going to need to get back to a somewhat more regular life, but we're going to keep this thing alive for the foreseeable future. (As long as you guys keep enjoying it is the main thing.)
Also, we haven't gotten through looks at all of the Visages yet! I plan on finishing these up as well for you in the days and weeks following the close of this campaign, just like we kept showcasing characters and monsters after the end of the first campaign. It doesn't really feel appropriate to do one in this update, but we definitely will finish them up for you soon.
All that to say, buckle up, everyone! We're not to the end of this campaign yet, and it's going to be a wild ride to the finish line!
