Translated Novel Delivery Imminent - Change Your Address Now if Needed!
– Wed, Jun 01, 2022 at 10:49:16 AM
Hi guys! Sorry for the radio silence on the translated novels. I know you all are very eager to get them. My apologies that they've taken so long to reach you.
The books all finished printing in December, and then we had to work for quite a long time to get them on a boat. Due to the international shipping situation, this proved to be no small task. However, we finally did manage to get one, and the books have been on their way to Poland over the last few weeks.
In fact, we expect the ship to arrive in Poland on the 15th - which is likely today, depending on where you are in the world. Now, they will still have to get through customs and then be sent out from our shipping partner, but, regardless, your book will be at your door very soon.
This will apply to the EU and surrounding regions. Canadian books should also be there soon (or have already been delivered), and the rest of the world will ship out from China by the end of March.
With this in mind, if you need to update your delivery address for the novels, then now would be the time to do that. To update your address (or for any other issues), send an email to Cherry at [email protected] and she'll get that fixed for you. (You can also reach me at [email protected], though I won't be able to help with address changes.)
Once again, we're very sorry it's taken so long for you to get your books. Having said that, the wait will officially be over within the next couple of weeks! Have a great day, and we hope you enjoy your translated copies of Shattered Seas.
Shattered Seas Translations Update
– Mon, Mar 07, 2022 at 10:42:00 PM
Guys, I am so sorry it has taken this long to update you all on the translations for Shattered Seas. There is no excuse for the length of time you have waited for this info. You have my sincere apologies. At last, though, we have good news, so here is your much too long-awaited update.
Several weeks ago, I finally finished the last files for the printed translations and got them off to the printer. We recently got the samples of the three translations, which you can see below. The printer is telling us that they will be done printing the books by mid-November. After that, we will have to secure shipping services, which could be quite a feat if you've followed the worldwide shipping situation at all. Having said that, it shouldn't be too much longer before you have your books. In the meantime, I just finished the eBooks a few days ago, so you can find those below.
The three Shattered Seas translations, from left to right: French (Mers Brisées), German (Zerbrochene See), and Spanish (Mares Destrozados).
So What Happened?
We ran up against a few problems with each of the translations, but none more than the Spanish version. That one went through three translators, a number of said translators' medical problems, and long blocks of time where all we heard was dead air. Initially, we planned to publish the French and German versions separately, but we ran into a few problems with those, which also saw them delayed - enough that it once again made sense to print them all simultaneously. As that happened, my attention drifted to other projects, such as our forthcoming Dawn of Madness, that, I will admit, sucked up pretty much all of my time and energy.
Now, none of that excuses my abhorrent lack of communication with you, for which I am so sorry. You deserved better.
eBooks
Even if there's still a little wait for the physical books, one thing I can do right now is to provide you with the eBooks for all three versions. You can find the links to your preferred language below. They are available in four different versions: PDF, ePub, Mobi, and KPF, which a Kindle program I used to double-check files tells me is the newest Kindle format and what the Kindle store actually uses. (Mobi will work with all Kindles, so try that one out if the KPF one gives you trouble or doesn't work. I'll admit, I had some problems with it. I only include it in the case that it's better for some people.)
Here are the links to the Google Drive folders for the different translations:
Let me know if you run into problems with any of these, too. You can reach me at [email protected]. I'll see what I can do to get something fixed if it's broken.
Updating Addresses
While it's not necessary right now to update your address, it will be soon. So, if you need to update your address for the translation delivery, send an email to [email protected] with the new address, and Cherry will get back to you as soon as she can.
Other Deep Madness News
I wish I could say I had a bunch of new Deep Madness news for you right now, but unfortunately, I don't. We do have a lot of stuff planned, but right now, our focus has been pretty much overtaken with our other projects. We do still plan to have another Deep Madness reprint in the future, but we don't have a specific date for you yet. I can say it won't be until we can really spend some time to make it awesome. (I would say it'll definitely be next year at this point, as opposed to this year.)
Anyway, thanks again for your nearly limitless patience and for just generally being awesome. You guys rock. I'll be back before too long once the books are closer to delivery to let you know when final address changes need to be submitted. Have a great week!

Hey guys! I'm going to be live streaming starting at 2 pm PST today (just over one hour from now,) so come hang out!
There will be a couple of firsts in this live stream: first, I'll be doing it with my friend Jeff from Soundbooth Theater as we discuss the Deep Dives, and it should also be the very first stream where I successfully stream to both Facebook and YouTube at the same time! Woohoo! (It only took me something like two years to figure it out... LOL!)
Below are the two links. I hope you can come hang out for a little bit today!
Have a great day, Happy Holidays, and Merry Christmas!
Some Fun Shattered Seas Stuff and News
– Tue, Dec 15, 2020 at 11:58:29 PM
Hey, guys! I've got news for you on many different fronts related to Shattered Seas today. Let's go!
Shipping
Every copy has shipped in the US, EU, and Asia. (Canada should have completely shipped, too.) If you haven't received your copy by this point, it's possible that a few stragglers are still in-bound. Having said that, you can reach out to [email protected] if you're worried.
Australia and South America are taking longer than anticipated, unfortunately. Both countries' shipments are facing problems relating to the time of year and the pandemic, which have both conspired to make shipping extremely troublesome. Hopefully, we'll have better news for these two regions shortly, and we'll let you know as soon as we can what's going on with those.
For those who asked to get a signed copy of the book, I finally have all of the copies I need to get this done for you and am working to get them all finished. I'll be emailing you all individually as I finish your copy, and will let you know how much shipping will cost to your area. If you're getting antsy, you can always email me at [email protected] and I'll let you know what the progress is on your book. =)
Translated Versions
The translations for the German and French versions are completed. However, we ran into some problems with the Spanish translation: specifically, the translator became really sick and is still recovering. We thought everything was still progressing, but apparently, it wasn't. At this point it doesn't look like he'll be able to complete the translation, but don't fear: We have three new options for a translator (three people who are extremely excited about it, by the way) and should have a decision on that very shortly.
Previously, we had planned to print all three translations of the book at the same time to lower printing costs. This is no longer the case. We are moving forward with the production of the German and French versions, and will then produce the Spanish version when we have that version finished. We're sorry for the further delay with the translated versions. We'll let you know when we have more information about those available for you.
The App For the Audiobook and Deep Dive Is Out!
For those of you who have been waiting for the Sound Booth Theater app to be available, I have great news! Both the Android and iPhoneversions are out now.
I can confirm from personal experience that the Android app works great and that you can, in fact, download both the audiobook and the Deep Dive inside it for offline listening.
Once again, you can redeem your free audiobook and full-cast, sound effects-laden, musically laced, radio-drama style Deep Dive by going to https://soundbooththeater.com/deep-madness-backer-reward/. You'll need to create a free account using the email address associated with your Kickstarter account, then use the code KADATH during checkout to get the two for free. (Be sure you get the $14 Audiobook + Deep Dive version because the code doesn't work with the audiobook alone.) This code has a limited lifespan, so be sure to redeem it as soon as possible! (You can read more about how to redeem your audiobook in our last update by clicking here, and you can email me at [email protected] if you have issues.)
Speaking of Soundbooth Theater, its founder (as well as Shattered Seas' audio narrator and lead voice actor), Jeff Hays, and I will be doing a live stream this coming Friday, December 18th, at 2 pm PST (UTC -8). Come hang out with us! I'll post up links before the actual live stream so you know where to go, but the Diemension Games YouTube channel is probably a safe bet.
Shattered Seas Comes to Amazon!
It'sofficial: Shattered Seaslaunched todayon Amazon, withother retailers followingsoonafter! The eBook and a trade paperback version are currently available. You can check out the paperback here: https://amzn.to/3a89o0l And the eBook is here: https://amzn.to/3qZ0s3t (And, yes, for those who are wondering, this is the first Diemension Games product to be widely available at retail!)
A couple of things about this: first, the eBook is identical to the one you received for free a few months ago. Second, as mentioned above, there is a trade paperback version of the book now available, but the hardcover version with the scenario in it isn't purchasable yet. This omission is largely due to the fact that some people haven't received the hardcover as of this writing, so it didn't seem right to list that one before the last few of you guys got it. We will have it up at some point after shipping is completed, though it will be in limited quantities.
I realize many of you won't need the book, but I do have a request to make: if you've read the book already, would you mind taking a couple of minutes to review it on Amazon? That legitimately helps a ton, and I would be extremely grateful. If you'd like to jump right to the review page, you can do so by clicking here. I'm hoping this can help open up the Deep Madness Universe to a whole new group of people and help take it to cool new places in the future!
Okay, that's it for this update. We'll talk to you all again shortly, but, if it's not before then, Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas!
Audiobook Update
– Tue, Nov 03, 2020 at 12:18:16 AM
Hey, guys! The audiobook is officially out in the wild, but my last email contained some fuzzy information (or just plain wrong information in a couple of cases), so I wanted to give you a complete walkthrough of how to access the audiobooks.
First, the emails have gone out, but they didn't go out from Soundbooth as I had originally mentioned - they actually went out from us via Backerkit. (LOL!) So keep an eye out for a Backerkit email, and, if you don't see it, then log in to your Backerkit account and you should find the link in there under your Deep Madness digital downloads. Alternatively, you can just go to https://soundbooththeater.com/deep-madness-backer-reward/ to get to the audiobook.
Claiming Your Audiobooks
Having a hard time figuring out what to do once you're there? Here's a walkthrough for you.
First, when you click on the link you'll come to this landing page. I've highlighted a few different things to pay attention to. First, once you get past this screen you'll have to 1) create an account. Before you leave this screen, though, you should 2) copy the code KADATH. You'll need it when you check out. Then, 3), click "Get Your Free Audiobook".
The landing page - copy the code KADATH and then click "Get Your Free Audiobook"
Next, you'll come to the Deep Madness Shattered Seas page. You'll come back to this page in a second, but for now, 1) click up near the top of the page where it says "Login/Register".
You'll come back to this page, but first, click "Login/Register"
Next, just fill out the registration form (BEING SURE TO USE YOUR BACKERKIT/KICKSTARTER EMAIL ADDRESS), and then click "Register". It's very important to use the email address associated with Backerkit and Kickstarter. The KADATH code is tied to this email address, and won't work with just any email address. (Also, this code will only work if you bought the Deep Madness core game through one of our two campaigns. If you bought it through a third-party, then email me at [email protected].)
Fill this out with your Backerkit/Kickstarter email address and click "Register"
Once you've registered, navigate back to the Shattered Seas page. (You can find it at https://soundbooththeater.com/shop/audiobooks/deep-madness-shattered-seas/, though it's also right on the main page and should be pretty easy to find.) First, 2) click on the Audiobook + Deep Dive option. (This is important, as the code doesn't work with just the Audiobook. Plus, you really want the Deep Dive, anyway.) Next, 3), click "Add to Cart". Then, 4) click "View Cart".
Click "Audiobook + Deep Dive", then click "Add to Cart". Next, click "View Cart".
Next, 1) enter the code KADATH. This should give some indication that the coupon code has been applied. Once you've seen that confirmation, 2) click "Proceed to Checkout". IF THE CODE DOESN'T WORK, it is very likely that one of two things is wrong: either you're not using the correct email address for your account, or you selected "Audiobook" versus "Audiobook + Deep Dive" on the previous page. If it's still not working, it is probably because you didn't order a copy of the Deep Madness core game through our Kickstarter. If that's the case, email me at [email protected] and I'll try to get you in the system.
Enter the code KADATH, then click "Proceed to Checkout".
After this, Soundbooth will ask you for some basic information that you would normally input in a checkout (I didn't have to enter payment information, so I doubt you'll have to, either), and then you will officially own both the audiobook and the Deep Dive.
Downloading the Audiobooks
One question I've seen numerous times in the comments is wondering about how one would download the audiobooks. Well, you're not able to - at least not quite yet.
While Soundbooth Theater has been making audiobooks for a long time, they just launched their own platform this last Friday. In fact, Shattered Seas is one of their headlining books for their new platform. Because of this, there are some bugs, and not everything is quite ready yet. They planned to have an app up for the launch, but the verification process took longer than expected, which delayed its release. Having said that, the first step has been passed for the Google Play store, and it should hopefully be up maybe as soon as the end of this week. The Apple App store is taking much longer (no big surprise there), but in theory, it will be up soon, too.
Once the apps are launched, you will be able to download the audiobooks from inside the apps. So, hopefully, that will be an option very, very soon.
Why Soundbooth?
Sorry for the few initial hiccups with this thing, guys. But it's going to be worth it once you hear the actual recordings. I think some people might wonder why we chose Soundbooth Theater to make this instead of going with a more traditional audiobook company or narrator, where we could just hand you a file and be done with it, or put it on Audible like every other audiobook in existence. But the thing is, this isn't just a normal audiobook: this is something much bigger and much cooler. We could never have done on our own what Jeff and his crew have managed with this thing. This is much more than the initial little social stretch goal we ran in the reprint campaign, which probably would have ended up being me sitting in front of a subpar mic slogging my way through narration - an afterthought rather than an incredible event. This is a true experience.
Plus, Jeff and crew went all out for this recording. I really appreciate their drive to make the best product they can and to really take it to the next level for you guys. We will likely never make a cent off of this audiobook, but, honestly, it's anyone's guess if Jeff will ever make anything off of this, either - and Jeff and his team put a lot into this production. Whenever we talked, I felt like maybe we should pull back so that they didn't have so much on the line. But Jeff always wanted to go bigger, to deliver the ultimate experience for you guys. I really appreciate Jeff and his attitude, and he's the sort of scrappy underdog that I want to support. (And, being as you're supporting Kickstarters, I think Soundbooth is probably the kind of thing you want to support, too.) I personally plan to buy more of their stuff (they have a really great Deep Dive rendition of Dracula that's almost done which I'm going to pick up), and I encourage you guys to take a look at their other stuff besides just Deep Madness, too.
I hope we get the chance to do many other projects with Jeff and Soundbooth Theater in the future. So, even if you only jump on board for the free Deep Madness recordings, I have a feeling it's not the last time you'll log in to the Soundbooth website or app if you continue to support Diemension Games stuff.
A Message from Jeff at Soundbooth
I was emailing with Jeff today, and he asked me if I wouldn't mind publishing a note from him on here. So, here's a message from Jeff with Soundbooth Theater:
"Hey Deep Madness Backers!
I hope those of you who gained access to the Deep Dive of Shattered Seas have been enjoying it so far. If you finish it, please don't forget to leave a review to tell us how you felt about the experience. Feedback is important to us, as we're always looking to improve user experience and our production technique!
For those of you who haven't met me, I'm Jeff Hays. I narrated, produced, directed, did sound design and music composition of both the audiobook and the Deep Dive of Shattered Seas. I started Soundbooth Theater in 2017 as my reputation as a narrator afforded me the ability to hire other narrators and produce more audiobooks. Eventually, I started hiring musicians and engineers, and my company became more like a big band. We all love audio, we're all artists, and we love bringing stories to life.
In the past year, we decided we should start moving our operation away from Audible to make our own place on the internet that specifically caters to our productions - somewhere which could give us the freedom to produce what we want and speak more directly to those who enjoy our content the most, rather than a giant abyss of listeners who don't know the difference between one production company and the next. We officiallylaunched our platform the day before you got your codes!
Our site and our market are a work in progress, and I know many of you have been frustrated that you don't have the option to download the Deep Dive, and I feel your pain. Launching with a streaming web player only was not ideal, and definitely our contingency in case of delay and not the plan. We have an app for both Android and iOS waiting to be approved by Apple and Google Play. This app will allow you to download Deep Madness -or anything else you find interesting in our catalog -directly to your phone, and you could then listen to our productions completely offline if you'd like. Though I can't speak to the slower moving iOS approval process, I've gotten notification from our developers TODAY that the first stage of approval has been passed by Google, and that the final approval is potentially forthcoming within the work week!
I hope this answers many of your questions and that, if you were frustrated with this initial experience, you will give us a chance to roll out more features, more content, and an overall better user experience. Deep Madness: Shattered Seas is by far our most elaborate, heavily produced, and refined production and we learned a whole lot from it. It's very dear to our hearts, and I hope you guys enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it. If you have any more questions about it, please torment Byron endlessly until he asks me so that he is compelled to communicate on a more regular basis, as we have more projects to work ontogether in the not-too-distant future!
To stay up to date with us (in particular, to find out when our app is ready for you to pick up from the Apple or Google Play stores) please sign up for our newsletter at soundbooththeater.com.
And to Byron and Diemension Games, thanks again for the opportunity to make this monstrosity for you, and to connect with your fans. I think I'm going to have NinjaOffDuty bring his copy of Deep Madness over again soon so we can play more of it.... with some home rules, of course, cause your game is too F@#$ing HARD!
Jeff Hays
Owner/Lead Narrator - Soundbooth Theater"
Okay, that's it for this update, guys! We'll be back very soon with more info about your physical copies! (Oh, one last thing, though: it sounds like shipping to Asia and Oceania for Shattered Seas has begunthrough VFI, so things are getting moving!)
